A Cheerful Spring Entryway
Yay for February!
I significantly think that January dragged on for wayyyyy too long. Who else has the same opinion?
Nothing against January, I am just looking forward to some warmer days and spring time and February gets me just a wee bit closer to that.

We've just had snow storm after snow storm and it is really getting old. These dreary days start to bring me down, so I HAD to bring some cheerful Spring accents into our home to help lift my spirits.
The first thing I did was bring up this old shelf that I had in our basement. I was using this shelf to hold all of my paint cans, but my paint collection pretty much outgrew the self :) It makes more sense to just stack my paint cans up against the wall, and by doing so, I could find a new place to put the shelf. Looking around our home, I decided that next to the front door would be a great spot for it. The storage bench that I had here previously got moved to across the room.
This shelf obviously could use a new paint job, but from my recent obsession with the color mint, I thought I'd leave it like this for now. I also just need to decide on what color to paint it. The nice thing about this shelf is that it isn't too deep so it doesn't obstruct the walkway leading into the sunroom at all.
To decorate this area, I went hunting around our house looking for colorful items and things that reminded me of spring. I've had the framed butterflies for a long time. I received them all as gifts, but if you're interested in them you can find similar ones HERE.
I'm liking all of the texture that's occurring right here with the straw hats and rope accents. The purse and bead hanger were thrift-store finds, and the glass flow changed into a memento from a journey to the beach.
I got this Himalayan pink salt candle holder at Home Goods last year. I don't know if Home Goods still carries them, but I know you can also find them HERE. Himalayan pink salt is known to clean the air and create positive energy. I don't know for sure if that is true, but it sure is pretty to look at. Plus it taste good if you lick it :) yup I've tried it.
And lastly, I just brought in some colorful pillows. The orange one was also from Homegoods years ago and the floral pillow on the chair is vintage, it once belong to my husband's grandma.
Freshening up our entryway really did bring a bit of cheerfulness into our home. It's a nice welcome when coming inside from the gloomy outdoors.
And I just had to percentage those snap shots of my Abby. I'm blessed everyday that I get to spend with this vintage, blind and diabetic sweet pug soul
Thank you so much for preventing by today.
If you too are feeling down due to the gloomy weather, then I wish I even have stimulated you to bring a little cheer into your home.
