Macrame Christmas Ornaments + 11 Other Fabulous DIY Ornaments

Every year I like to provide you with a new look for our Christmas tree. I do so by using mixing up the adorns that I already very own, together with creating a few new ones. This 12 months, I idea it'd be fun to create some macrame-inspired adorns.

Also, this is an exciting day, because I'm joining 11 other bloggers for a really fun DIY Christmas Ornament blog hop! A big thanks to Krista, from The Happy Housie for putting it all together for us.

You can locate the links to all the other suitable ornaments at the end of this weblog put up.

I think my Macrame embellishes turned out so adorable and they have been really simple to make.

Here's how I made them:

First, I started off with some inexpensive metal bracelets. I used bracelets because that's what I had on hand.  Any type of large ring or hoop will work just fine.

(You can find some similar bracelets, HERE)

Next, I were given a few pretty, chunky, tweed yarn and cut strands to be approximately sixteen inches long.

I looped the yarn onto the bracelet.

First, I folded the strand of yarn in 1/2, laid the middle loop onto the bracelet like this:

Then I tucked the two ends in the back of the bracelet and thru the middle like this:

I then pulled the two ends to make a knot that gave the look of this:

I added six strands of yarn to each of my ornaments.  After the strands were added, I trimmed the ends to create a layered look like this:

And the final step is to feature a knot to the cease of the yarn to maintain it from fraying.

Super lovable, proper?

For now, I just got out a small tree so that I could share these ornaments with you.  I will be pulling out my big tree and decorate that sometime next week.

And obviously, these macrame ornaments can be made in any coloration or period you want.

So take hold of a few yarn and a few buddies and have fun making them!

Thanks for stopping by.
