Pada Passive Sentence, umumnya dibuat menggunakan kata kerja, yg mana subject tidak memperlihatkan sebuah kegiatan atau aksi.
Dalam Passive Sentence, subjek tidak melakukan tindakan dalam kalimat. Yang mana sebenarnya, tindakan itu dilakukan di atasnya, yaitu maksudnya Subject pada Passive Sentence berperan sebagai penerima aksi.
Passive sentence terdiri berdasarkan subjek, predikat dan juga object.
Passive Sentence merupakan sebuah istilah kerja yg nir memperlihatkan aksi & hanya bertindak sebagai penerima aksi.
Berikut merupakan beberapa contoh Passive Sentences:
Nurlia was driven to the mall.
(Dalam contoh ini, Nurlia tidak melakukan tindakan verba buat dikendarai. Tindakan itu dilakukan padanya, beliau merupakan penerima tindakan tadi)
Nowadays, Sumatera Tiger is protected
(Tindakan sedang dilakukan untuk subjek, Harimau Sumatera)
The olives are stoned and crushed in this room.
(Tindakan sedang dilakukan pada subjek, butir zaitun.)
Dengan Passive Sentence/ Kalimat Pasif, Gunakan " BY " untuk Menunjukkan Aktor
Dalam passive sentence/ kalimat pasif, orang atau benda yg melakukan aksinya (aktor) umumnya didahului sang istilah demi istilah. Sebagai contoh:
Nurlia was driven to the mall by Nayla.
Nowadays, Sumatera Tiger is protected by law.
The olives are stoned and crushed in this room by my son.
Kebalikan dari passive sentence/ kalimat pasif adalah active sentence/ kalimat aktif, di mana subjek melakukan tindakan dari istilah kerja.

Dalam kalimat aktif, subjek melakukan tindakan kata kerja. Kalimat aktif adalah kebalikan dari kalimat pasif.
Contoh kalimat aktif/ Active Sentence:
The cat ate all the biscuits.
(Dalam contoh ini, kucing adalah subjek kalimatnya. Kucing adalah subjek kata kerja buat dimakan. Kucing melakukan tindakan verba; yaitu, hal yg melakukan - makan.)
Active Sentence/ Kalimat Aktif adalah kebalikan dari Passive Sentence/ Kalimat Pasif, untuk itu, sebagai contoh; coba bandingkan kalimat ini dengan versi passive/ pasif:
The biscuits were eaten by the cat.
(Dalam contoh ini, biskuit nir melakukan tindakan verba. Sebenarnya, hal itu dilakukan pada mereka. Oleh karena itu, ini adalah kalimat pasif.)
