Let's Chat : Ashley | Meet Me in Philadelphia
I am really excited to welcome Ashley from Meet Me in Philadelphia here today. Ashley and I share a similar updated traditional aesthetic and design over time philosophy. If you're not already following this talent, you should start now.
1. SELF OR SPACE are you extra interested in style or indoors design?:
I've always been into any kind of innovative expression, but maximum of my time is spent considering pretty interiors in recent times. Out of university, I stumbled into an superb process as an assistant customer for a very excessive-quit boutique (think Proenza Schouler, Lanvin, Balenciaga) however the pull of interiors really captured my creativeness due to the fact I became living handiest own for the primary time. I desperately desired a area that felt like domestic and that is been my mission in any space I've lived in since that factor.
2. FAVORITE ROOM IN YOUR HOUSE:
We bought our "for all time" domestic in January 2013 and are taking the protection/decorating system slowly. We prioritized our den, which is painted a comfortable, inky blue ("Gentleman's Gray" with the aid of Benjamin Moore) and displays the evolution of my style over the years. Lately, I'm making an investment in pieces--like an English pine cloth cabinet and vintage parlor chair--which might be undying and classic and this room is the best location to reveal those portions off.
3. FAVORITE OUTFIT:
Since leaving the fashion global over 5 years ago, I've settled into a informal fashion. I'm also from New England and have clearly embraced easy portions from LL Bean (like my favourite french sailor top). Plus, you'll hardly ever see me without my moss green LL Bean boat tote--it's indestructible!
Four. FAVORITE ARTIST OR DESIGNER:
That's a toughy! If I had to pick out, I'd say I've been drawn these days to the classically English style of Ben Pentreath. He is the last British metropolis mouse and united states mouse all rolled into one, and his keep is on my bucket list for the time I get to London!
5. BIGGEST OBSESSION:
How do I choose? A few long-standing obsessions come to mind..."Beverly Hills, 90210" (the Brenda years only--let's be real here),Repetto flats, thrift stores and and well-priced antique shops,Terrain, Wes Anderson movies, peonies...I could go on. But my biggest obsession is collecting old copies of Martha Stewart Living. I've got about 120+ issues and I keep them organized neatly in my craft room where I actually pull them out for inspiration often!
