DIY Greenhouse Terrarium using Picture Frames

A few months ago I shared this project over at Ella Claire.

And these days I notion I'd re-proportion it right here by myself weblog for any of you

who might also have overlooked it.

I made this terrarium out of  picture frames I bought at the dollar store.

I came across this idea one day onPinterest and decided to give it a try.

The instructions I observed were somewhat complex and so

I have give you a easier manner to make one.

Other commands contain brackets, screws and hinges.

I made mine with lightweight frames, hot glue, and white duct tape.  Like I said, Simple :)

To make a picture frame greenhouse like mine, you'll want to start out with

eight lightweight photograph frames;

Two 8 X 10's, Two 5 X 7's and four 4 X 6's

The best region to find lightweight frames is on the dollar save.

The frames want to be light-weight so that they'll preserve together without difficulty with just warm glue.

Before shopping my frames, I laid them all out on the ground at the shop, ensuring that they lined up flawlessly together.

The four X 6's subsequent to each other want to be equal period to the eight X 10's

When you get your frames home, step one could be to paint them.

Remove the glass and backing of the frames, then spray paint them on each facets.

I used Rustoleum semi-gloss spray paint.

Once the paint  is dry, it's time to glue the glass back into the frames.

Place warm glue in each of the four corners of the body.

Be careful now not to add too much or it will show through the glass.

Now lay the glass into vicinity.

Secure with the metallic tabs.

Now run the glue gun down into the cracks among the body and glass.

Once all of the glass is glued into the frames, it is time to assemble the greenhouse.

Run the glue gun down the aspect of your five X 7 body and glue onto your eight X 10 frame.

Contunue glueing on every frame until you've got created a container.

Now run the glue gun at each corner on the inside of the box.  This will help to secure it even more.

To create the roof, first glue the four X 6's to every other lengthwise. You might be making that appear to be this:

You will NOT be gluing all 4 frames collectively, as a substitute you will need to use white duct tape.

The duct tape will create a flexible side so as to allow for the roof pinnacle to fold over.

Note: I additionally brought duct tape over the sides I had glued together, but found out later that this turned into unnecessary. You simplest need to tape the four frames collectively (see line below).

It allows to have someone holding the roof whilst the other individual is gluing it into place.

Once the roof is on, your greenhouse is completed and should look like this:

Place greenhouse over your favored little plants next to a sunny window, and watch the flora grow.

I do not assume I may be any happier with how my green residence became out.

What do you observed?

Will you be creating a picture frame greenhouse of your personal?
