Why I Chose My House & A Fun Blog Hop

I love our domestic!

I realize which can sound a bit cocky, but hey it is the truth!

I had been in love with our domestic ever when you consider that I first stepped foot in it six years in the past.

Today I wanted to share some of the reasons why I chose our home in a fun blog hop that's hosted by Jennifer at Town and Country Living.  I was so excited to get the invite from Jennifer because I think this is such a neat topic. So at the end of this blog post I will have a list of all of the other bloggers who are also sharing a more personal and informative tour of their own homes.

Here is our Little Cottage Bungalow that turned into built in 1924

When I first saw the listing for our home I surpassed it up thinking that even though it become a remarkable adorable residence it changed into just too small for our circle of relatives. But then someday the realtor had brought some more snap shots to the list showing that there has been a basement with a family room and that's once I knew I needed to see extra.

Here is a photograph of what the house gave the look of at that point:

I nonetheless take into account the day that we came to view the residence. It was inside the middle of wintry weather, and the house felt darkish and bloodless due to the fact there has been no warmth and no electricity and all of the curtains had been closed. But the second I stepped in I felt like this residence changed into intended to be ours.

The first issue that had me at Hello changed into that our house is located on one of the prettiest streets in town covered with antique beautiful homes and large tall timber. Our domestic is also in strolling distance to the metropolis park, library, center college, hardware save and my husbands law office, which became the principle reason for the pass.

Because our home turned into built in 1924 I dream about what it gave the impression of back in its day. I've searched our town's records museum and the net both hoping to come upon some old images of it however lamentably I could not discover any. However, I did find photograph of some of the opposite houses on our road which might be considered to be historic, so that become fun to see.

Now let's head on inner of our home and I'll percentage some things that made this residence a done deal for me.

This residence was fully made over more than one years earlier than we bought it, and so I continually felt that we got the nice of each worlds; the attraction of an vintage home however without all the work of updating it.

These two nook hutches in our dining room are authentic to the home but all of the wainscoting and molding became newly added.

A few years after we moved into our home, I met a gal who is the sister of the man who came in and did all of the remodeling.  She shared with me a ton of before pictures of our home, including this one of our dining room. Yes, this is the same room!

I once did a huge blog post showing all of those before pictures and then pictures right after the remodel. It is a really fun blog post to read, so if you are interested, you can check it out HERE.

Probably the largest shocker is the main bedroom upstairs. This became as soon as wasted area and seemed liked this:

Now it is a beautiful master suite! And I truely love the antique brick chimney.

If I had to pick out a favourite room in our house even though, I'd have to say it's miles the sunroom/workplace. The old french doors main in, the wall of antique windows and the daylight that shines in all make this room so enjoyable to be in. I'm sure you can see why it's my preferred.

Something kinda exciting in here even though are the flooring. If you appearance intently in this next photograph you will word a line breaking apart the wooden. This has usually made me surprise if there was once multiple greater toes delivered to this room. If best these walls (or floors) should speak.

Okay, now I leave you with the final promoting factor of our home....

With two boys this play fort in the backyard truly had me believing that this house was meant to be ours.  :)

There are so many other matters that I love about our residence however with that said, it is not best.

The yard is pretty small, the buddies are too near, we would really like to feature a further bed room and toilet to the basement, and it is nowhere close to the sea, which I continually say, If I may want to change one aspect about our home it would be to provide it an ocean view.

What are some things you love approximately your private home? What became it that made you choose your house? And What are a number of your houses quirks?

(once I say home, I additionally imply apartment, condominium, condominium space, or anywhere home is to you).
