Made a Mano makes my head spin
This is Mount Etna in Sicily.
Mount Etna has been erupting for lots of years and is arms-down the most lively volcano on earth. Over the millennia, sizable amounts of basaltic lava have solidified on its flanks.
Made a Mano takes this solidified lava and makes glazed tiles, glazed counters and sinks. Made a Mano also powders it to make a low-hearth clay they name Cotto.
Unfortunately, Made a Mano doesn't but have a US distributor. But I can dream, can not I?
So I turned into going thru their website and seeking to comprise myself after I got here across this tile:
That sample looked strangely familiar. And then it hit me. I'd visible the equal sample on a ground in Pompeii.
So far as I'm concerned, everything may be traced again to the Romans. Made a Mano gained a life-time fan with the inclusion of that pattern, permit me inform you.
I'm insane for these items. Check out those tile styles.
Now bear in thoughts that these things are hand-painted on glazed stone. Just beautiful.
But it is now not all. They get worried in flooring too. Take that Pyrolave!
They make counters and sinks too.
Beautiful, it all. Check out Made a Mano's website and drool. Now, I just must find a way to get my hands on their stuff.
