Hard Times centerpiece

So inside the spirit of the present day economic mess and in anticipation of the worse mess to come, I put together a centerpiece last week on the cheap. So a whole lot so that I'm such as it in my growing library of reasonably-priced fixes. Check this out:

I took a plate I already had and set it inside the center of my dining desk. Then I crammed three jars with sand. I'm all the time soaking the labels off of jars and never using them for whatever. Well, now I found a use for 3 of them. So the jars had been already in my cupboard and the sand is what passes for soil in my a part of the sector. I sank a taper candle in every jar. I bought eight-inch ivory taper candles in a package of 4 from a greenback save. So at 1 / 4 apiece, I'm as much as 75 cents out of pocket for this element so far. Then I pulled some mistletoe out of an alrighttree within the alley and simply broke off the sprigs and piled them onto the plate. Ta-daaa! Instant centerpiece and I gathered compliments for the entire time it sat on the table.

75 cents?! Martha Who?
