My Old World Farmhouse Kitchen

This is the fourth post featuring a tour of our home, this time it concentrates on the kitchen. I like the look of old world farmhouse kitchens full of antiques, paintings, and other collectibles that bring in the warmth and charm. Even though the kitchen has some English, some German, and some Dutch antiques, it is predominately French farmhouse in style. I took the pictures of the kitchen at Christmas because it's my favorite time in the house. I love my kitchen although it is not that large. Most people say it's warm and cozy which makes me happy because I believe that is exactly what old world farmhouse kitchens should be.

Our house is approximately one hundred twenty years antique and had been become apartments because of this we had to make it a domestic once more. There have been no kitchen counters, home equipment or anything else in right here. It turned into essentially a shell that handiest had a hotplate and a booth from a eating place. It were inhabited by university students for years so you get the picture. Like I have said in past blogs about the residence, it truely has been a long time "exertions of love". Hope you experience the tour of our old international farmhouse kitchen.

This is the hallway and pantry that leads to our old world style kitchen. I have wonderful old bead board cupboards that extend all the way down one side of the hallway. These really give add to the farmhouse feel.

Miss Chanel is glaringly leading the tour.

On the right aspect are some of the museum duplicate samplers I actually have made through the years. I love to do the real counted crosstitch where you use linen and actually must count number threads. I even have so enjoyed the harlequin ground and suppose it enables set the antique world tone of the kitchen.

Here is a higher photo of the samplers. Some are on cream linen and others (my favorites) are on darker unbleached linen. These massive ones take me about 6 months to finish. I actually have greater however need to border them. Hopefully will cowl the whole wall sooner or later. I consider nothing adds warm temperature to a home (in this situation an antique world kitchen) like home made textiles.

And of route Sophie has to reveal up for her picture too.

On the left facet of the hall is the cupboard vicinity and in this unique component I keep my collection of creamware. If you need to feature instantaneous old international farmhouse aptitude to your kitchen, collect and show some creamware.

This and the next few pictures hopefully will give a panoramic view of the kitchen. It is hard to take pictures because you can't get back far enough to really get a good shot. Underneath the farmhouse work table are containers for storing potatoes and onions. I don't hide them......not in an old world  farmhouse kitchen.

Finally located some antique shutters to place at the home windows and were given them up in time for Christmas. The more wood makes an vintage international farmhouse kitchen appearance even warmer.

My antique work table. It has a trestle shelf beneath for storing matters. I want each bit of garage I can get because antique houses commonly are short of it. The photo above the window functions a parchment map of France and all the crests of the French provinces. It changed into a present from a chum who offered it there. It's really very pretty.

I discovered the old glass and wood panel and stenciled it to seem like a French bakery window. Pieces like this can add to the farmhouse sense so cross treasure looking and search for specific objects of your own.

The French chest is an old family piece. The big oil painting is of a pastoral French village with figures herding animals etc. I love using antique artwork in the kitchen. Remember an old world farmhouse kitchen should never have a minimalist look.

The round very welltable belonged to Tim's circle of relatives. Found these tremendous cane again French chairs and recovered them in a linen material. Cane furniture works in reality properly in an old international farmhouse kitchen whether painted or left herbal.

When accumulating creamware for your old world farmhouse kitchen, recollect that stacks look higher than simply lining up person portions. It's greater actual searching and that's what you are after.

This is a large vintage needlepoint photograph of a pastoral scene of a lady, her kids and a sheep. Like I stated I love paintings in a kitchen. For some reason people generally tend to sense like kitchens are utilitarian simplest so this is why there's no warm temperature in most kitchens. I like the European manner better......Aesthetics constantly a must in an vintage global farmhouse kitchen.

Just put the antique reflect inside the kitchen and every person absolutely likes it. Display dishes, baskets, interesting timber bins and display portions like the 5 shelved mini nook cabinet to the left. These are the add-ons with a view to make your vintage world farmhouse kitchen feel actual.

A good image of the bead board cupboard and pantry unit and the shelf above it. There are alot of vintage bits and portions saved on pinnacle that you can't see for the greenery. This turned into inside the house once I bought it and honestly lends to the united states farmhouse great of the kitchen. Hope you enjoyed the excursion.
