2019 Christmas House Tour

Season's Greetings!

It's that point of yr whilst the arena falls in love. Every track you hear seems to mention Merry Christmas, may additionally your New Year desires come actual...

* Sing Along *

Are you feeling the magical Spirit of Christmas?

We certain are round these components. There is simply some thing so special about a domestic it's all dressed up for the vacations, isn't there?

We've had a whole lot of fun redecorating our domestic this year, as we do each yr.

Our Christmas redecorating looks unique each 12 months, which I think is amusing. I know that some of you like to preserve the whole lot the identical every year and I assume that that is incredible. Traditions are superb.

But for me, I like Christmas to have a special look every year so I location my tree in distinctive spots and I mix up what adorns, decorations, and coloration schemes I use.

Here in our Entryway I hung up a large picture of a snowy tree.  I took this picture one winter and then had Costco print it out for me.

And then in our living room  I stuck to that cozy-snowy-winter vibe.

Do you deliver your decorating topics? Or names? I realize that my mom-in-law always does and I suppose it's fun.

Something without a doubt fun about this year is that we were given a new Christmas Tree!

We had the same tree for years and it was really starting to show. It had so many layers of broken, half lit strands of lights on it and the branches were shedding their needles all over the place. And so I ordered us this new beautiful flocked Christmas tree from[HERE] and we absolutely love it!

I've continually desired a flocked tree and this one is perfect!

I used a sleeping bag as a tree skirt and actually just blogged 8 reasons why I think sleeping bags make great Christmas tree skirts. See that post [HERE]

Now once I pass approximately decorating our home for the vacations each yr, I generally have a small concept of what direction I need to go in, and due to the fact we had just gotten lower back from a trip to the Oregon Coast I became dreaming up a Coastal-Christmas vibe.

But then Facebook pulled up this reminiscence of mine from about 8 years ago and that changed everything. Ha!

This photograph of my boys building a snowman once they have been little just melts my coronary heart.

So I right away published this picture out and framed it and quite lots adorned the rest of our domestic round it.

Something that I love to do is use cloth as a photograph mat. So I went to my fabric scraps and determined this red plaid that I idea might be ideal for Christmas. This material changed into really from an old shirt of my husbands. I once even sewed a pillow out of it, but sadly, I misplaced that pillow whilst our Great Dane turned into only a domestic dog and going through her "pillow ingesting level". I misplaced a lot of correct pillows again then, however thankfully she grew out of that terrible degree.

Lol.

Anyway, I nevertheless had a few greater scraps left over from that blouse and changed into able to use it for my photo mat.

I then cut off the cuffs from the sleeve of the blouse and that they healthy Perfectly round some candles on our mantel.

I absolutely couldn't agree with how ideal the cuffs wrapped around the candles. So this is a surely smooth and quick craft if you need to make some too. Just cut off the cuffs from an XL get dressed shirt, wrap it round a candle and button it up.

I additionally made those sweater candles you spot above a while in the past. For those I simply reduce the sleeves off of an old sweater, but they did required a bit little bit of stitching to get them to suit over the glass candles that I used.

I saved my mantel quite simple. Pretty tons everything is similar to I had it earlier than although I did mix in a few Christmas alternatives into my rattan mirror. I did this remaining year too and think that it is an clean way to add a festive touch to a replicate.

And then with the the rest of the fabric scraps from my husband's vintage blouse, I cut them into strips and tucked them into our Christmas tree like ribbon. So ya, the purple plaid topic of my adorning all passed off due to the fact I desired to print and body a Facebook Memory :)

Even although I misplaced the matching plaid blouse pillow from again in those doggy days, I nevertheless had a couple of other crimson plaid pillows that still go incredible within the room. Also, just want to let you understand that in case you seek "Pillows" here at the weblog, you could learn the way I sew pillows from a guys's shirt and additionally my go-to clean pocket pillow tutorials.

Next to our couch I placed some  Christmas sheet music on an antique music stand and brought in my boy's guitar in hopes that they will pick it up and play me a song. They are both great little guitar players, but I literally have to beg them to play.

The shelf above the couch is pretty new, I made it and blogged about it [HERE] As soon as I hung the shelf above our couch I started thinking about how I might want to decorate it for Christmas.

I ought to already picture having lots of little bottle-brush-like timber coated up on it.

I offered the little trees from the greenback tree one year and they have made it into my Christmas decorating each given that. They constantly create a cute little show.

On the coffee table I added some cute little log deer candle holders that I picked up at a yard sale over the summer.  I thought they were super adorable and I love that they are handmade and made from nature.

And right here is one final take a look at the whole living room before we flow on.

Next up is the eating room.

I continued the red plaid theme in our dining room by throwing a light blanket over one of the chairs.  I like adding extra pillows and blankets to the dining room because it adds a cozy touch but also sometimes you just want to snuggle up as you sip on coffee or eat your bowl of oatmeal or what not. Plus this light blanket can double as a tablecloth if I want to dress the table up a bit more.

I additionally delivered some other pops of crimson around the room and persevered with my Cozy-Snowy-Winter vibe by means of hanging snowflakes from the chandelier.

This wall here kinda separates the living from

the dining room and I always like to play around with decor on these shelves..... However this year, I let the boys decorate it.  Their favorite part about Christmas decorating is getting out the Nutcrackers!  We have quite the collection of nutcrackers, don't you think?

My husband accrued the nutcrackers together with his mom each year at Christmas and so this is half in their collection, she has the second half of. Plus we have continued with the lifestyle and so our series keeps growing every year.

In our dining room we've got two corner hutches which might be also great fun for me to play around in. I displayed my little village houses in one of the hutches.

While I displayed a collection of  wooden moose in the other corner hutch.

Because these shows are in the back of glass you do not be aware them right away, however it is nonetheless amusing to decorate them.

This little frosted tree that I located at a backyard sale one year has grow to be a favorite aspect of mine. I plopped it right into a straw bag, added a few pompom ornaments to it and I assume that it seems splendid.

On the replicate I even have a Christmas tree garland that I picked up at Target some years ago and then a simple strand of purple pompom trim that provides simply the proper amount of crimson to the distance.

Again, that is any other easy way to dress up a replicate for the holidays.

Now onto the kitchen!

I never in reality do much Christmas adorning in our kitchen. But some months in the past I did add a strand of Emerson string bulb lighting fixtures to around the window only for added lights. So now the lighting fixtures seem like Christmas lighting. But I love these lighting a lot and the way they upload this kind of stunning glow to our kitchen that I do not ever plan on taking them down.

And I brought a little Christmas greenery and a a laugh vacation dish towel to the region around our range and so it does experience a bit festive in here :)

And Lastly, I thought I'd share our bedroom. It's a little hard to see in my pictures but I have a garland with lights behind the bed. I just love what a garland with lights can add to a  space.

Christmas lights in a bedroom are continually magical. I additionally love to add even extra layers of coziness to our mattress in the course of the winter months.

So there you've got it! This is what our domestic looks as if for Christmas this 12 months. Now we are all prepared to cozy on in even as we await the big day to arrive.

**I'm also dreaming of a few snow**

Nothing beats a White Christmas!
