I am obsessed with my air fryer. We use it all the time for quick and easy meals. With the Super Bowl coming up, I thought it was time to test out some Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings. OMG! These are the BEST wings I've ever made at home. So crispy and SO easy! They are perfect for watching the big game! All you need is a basket of fries and some ranch or bleu cheese dressing. How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings with Baking Powder
The key to getting the wings nice and crispy in the air fryer is coating the skin with baking powder before cooking. I had read about this technique online in the past and finally tested it out. Let me tell you, it works! I'm not sure about all of the science behind it, but letting the baking powder soak into the chicken skin makes it crispy when it bakes in the air fryer. To make these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings start with rubbing the chicken wings with some garlic powder and baking powder. Let the chicken hang out in the refrigerator for at least one hour or up to overnight. When ready to bake the wings, season them with salt and pepper. Place them in the air fryer basket standing them up on their ends next to the edge of the basket wall. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket. Bake the wings and then toss in wing sauce. I used a bottle of Frank's Wings Sauce.
If you aren't a fan of buffalo sauce, feel free to toss the wings in your favorite sauce. BBQ sauce or this sauce from our Sweet & Spicy Boneless Wings would also be delicious!
